When Brussels-based Gigi discovers that his mother Anaïs is dating her ex again, with whom she shared not only love but also a drug addiction in the past, he presents her with an ultimatum: her son or her lover. When Anaïs refuses to choose, Gigi decides to leave the house. Falling back on his friends, Gigi finds his way in a merciless society.
The Streamz Original Putain is a captivating drama series in which characters discover that family is forever, only when they want to get rid of it.
In the new ten-part series, we discover numerous new diverse Brussels talents in the lead roles alongside established names: Liam Jacqmin, Liesa Van der Aa (‘The Day’), Felix Heremans (‘Holly’), Hind Bouabid, Laura Darnovsky, Roda Fawaz (‘1985’), Gorik van Oudheusden, Victoria Djamusala, Martha da Rossa Canga Antonio (‘Roomies’), Tijmen Govaerts (‘Two Summers’), Maaike Neuville (‘Red Light’), Tom Vermeir (‘Ground’), Anemone Valcke (‘The Twelve’) and Pierre Boeraeve.
Curated and assembled by Zwangere Guy, the soundtrack will be a quasi entirely Brussels mélange, which does not allow itself to be categorized. A record inspired by close friendships, change and sadness, as eclectic and rich in influences as Brussels itself. Don’t expect just songs by Zwangere Guy, but a soundtrack that represents his record collection.
Putain is a production by Panenka for Streamz and Videoland and came together with the support of VAF/Mediafonds and Creative Europe MEDIA. The series received economic support from: Screen Flanders, an initiative of Flanders Innovations & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO), Screen Brussels and The Tax Shelter measure from the Belgian Federal Government.
Putain will be shown exclusively on Streamz in Belgium and on Videoland in the Netherlands in the fall of 2024.
